Elena Aleksenko is a ceramic artist who lives and creates in a studio in Moscow. She graduated with honors from the Moscow State Stroganov Academy of Art and Design, earning a Master’s degree in ceramics.

Her works are exhibited in art galleries and museum exhibitions, and her ceramics are present in museum and private collections. She has participated in ceramic symposiums and exhibitions in Russia and abroad. I work with all types of ceramics.
ARTIST STATEMENT
I work in the field of artistic ceramics. I study form-making and am busy searching for new constructive and plastic solutions. Clay in the hands of a ceramist conveys ideas that cannot be expressed in words, making them tangible and three-dimensional. The forms of ceramic sculptures are spatially decorative, each sculpture is unique. The process is based on elements of hand assembly of freely modeled objects.
A high level of craftsmanship is important to me — my works are glazed and fired several times to obtain a very good surface and correct color rendition. Currently, in my works, I focus on the concept and the ability of the form of the sculpture itself to independently resonate in space, interacting with the viewer through a harmonious composition. And the result seems nuanced and balanced.
